More than just great images that make us proud, the idea behind them is an important appeal we want to share with you all today: the idea of boundless love for one another.
More than ever, today, the virtues of tolerance and respect, whether opinion, religion, gender, sexual orientation (and the list goes on), are celebrated like never before, yet in contrast, are challenged as never before.
Hollywood has shown us well how to stand up, to fight for our love. What if Richard Gere didn’t come back for Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman? What if the Beauty and the Beast would have listened to the villagers instead of their hearts?
Examples are endless when it comes to great silver-screen romances but off-screen we need to be just as brave, romantic and fight for the one we love.
The message “Love conquers all” was a natural fit for MYKU. We celebrate the values of timelessness and longevity of our timepieces and, just like them, the mission of love conquering all has been a belief to people since the early days and continues to be on our minds.
Roman poet Virgil, born in 70BC, first wrote the phrase (omnia vincit amor in Latin), describing how the protagonist of his story dies of love, holding his beliefs until the very end. The subject of all-conquering love remains a central subject to artists through times, more recently as a song by Pink Floyd and Tan Chui Mui’s award winning film with the same title in 2006.
Love conquers all. Think about it. Sounds like things should be, doesn’t it?
Just like life, love for one another is a journey, a lesson that we share with the other one and the ones around us.
Today, MYKU celebrates the people whose love truly conquers all, who take the course of their hearts, stand up for one another and are in love just like on the day they fell into it. Withstanding the tests of time, mastering the challenges encountered and being there for one another, we celebrate all kinds of love, whether amongst friends, family, your better half, a thing dear to us or a long-cherished memory.
Throughout the years, some sooner some later, all love needs a little care, a little fixing to remind one another of it’s worth, the magic it brings with it.
Remember what you love about one another and tell the other one what they mean to you, just to fall in love again all over. Your stand can make a difference, inspire others and create awareness in order to raise acceptance and to share the joy you feel within yourself.
