He is well versed in a multitude of languages and always on a mission to go “the extra mile” for his guests. In a country known for its competitive and booming hospitality industry, we spoke to Sukamal about how he continuously inspires and manages his team to strive for excellent service and exceeding guests’ expectations.
"I am Sukamal I am the General Manager of Oriental Residence Bangkok.
Not a single day I repent and I feel happy I am glad that I chose this. In some days we meet hundreds of people. I don't get bored meeting people because there is a lot of things you can do for the people to make them happy. So basically I get paid to make people happy and that makes me happy in fact.
I think what makes us different is the service. To me luxury is something which makes you feel comfortable, simple, not too complicated, and human touch; not too much high technology, you make your guest worry too much.
To me MYKU is luxury. Love at first sight, I really have to tell you this. I personally don't believe in collecting too much materials, I like memories, I like good time with people. I don't have a same item two pieces but I have two MYKUs."
